Set Studio:
The lighting set up.
Today we took photos of the studio so we could design a set from the research I conducted on the codes and conventions on a news program. This was the perfect set as we have control of everything from sound and lighting. Props we want are as follows; desk, chair, paper and possibly a mug. When considering a costume we want something professional to simulate a news reader however we also want to incorporate some futuristic qualities this is something I wish to discuss with Collusion to emulate their idea of the future correctly.
To continue we will set up our props and simulate how we will film and hopefully practise with the greenscreen.
Story beats:
Using Synders story beats:
Opening image:
In our narrative this will be when the news starts with the graphics and the presenter introducing themselves
Set up:
This presents the protagonist and what they need or want. The news reader will give limited information on what is currently happening to Kings Lynn. Including possibly flashback or art and a small interview.
Theme stated:
This is when the theme are first presented. This will link with the set up showing climate change and negative behaviour.
Catalyst:
This is when an incident happens to move the plot along. This will come through as a breaking news announcement stating that there has been a glitch in the IHL system from 2021. They have no further information
Debate:
The moment the main character can't decide what to do.
The break into two:
This is the start of the second act and is normally when the protagonist decides what to do.
B story:
Not Needed.
Fun and games:
When the protagonist explores the main concept of the film. Discusses what happened in 2021 and the corona virus.
Midpoint:
This is either the highest or the lowest point of the narrative. This is when the news room discover the TikTok's and the trend #WhatWillYourFutureLookLike.
The Bad Guy Closes in:
The antagonist reveals themselves or remerges.
All is Lost:
The antagonist defeats the protagonist.
Dark Night of the soul:
When the protagonist realises they've been defeated.
Break into Three:
When the protagonist realises what they must do to defeat the antagonist.
Finale:
This is the final push for the protagonist to defeat the antagonist.
Final Image:
Show how the protagonist life has changed. We will have the news reader hoping that the IHL can inspire hope into the people of 2021 lives to restore the Kings Lynn they know.
