Idea

 Ideas:

1st Idea:

My first idea is to create a short film which also spreads awareness of the 'ask for Anglia' campaign in  which women who feel that they are in danger or feel uncomfortable at a bar or restaurant can ask the staff if Anglia is working this makes them, aware of their unsafe situation without drawing attention to it. My idea is to have two female friends talking in a café. One of the friends talks about a blind date she went on the characters narrates as we flash back to the date. The man she's on a date with makes her feel uncomfortable and in danger. She then remembers about a campaign she saw called 'ask for Anglia' after she ask if Anglia is working the waitress says yes and takes her to the kitchen there she calls a taxi for the woman and helps her leave through the back. The other friend at the café states she'd never heard of the campaign and wonders what would happen if the waitress hadn't heard of it and flashes to the worst case scenario. The first characters looks scared for a second then says I don't know I guess I'm lucky.

2nd Idea:

My second idea is to develop and create the idea myself and Adam pitched to the company Collusion. The brief the company gave us was to create a promotion campaign for the event they are hosting in Kings Lynn. They wanted the promotion to happen through the social media platform TikTok the promotion would fill the gap in their science fiction story. The story they have created takes place in the future in which Kings Lynn is a economical hub. A group of historians called the IHL have a gap in their information can not find out what happened to make Kings Lynn evolve like this. Our campaign explains this phenomenon. Our idea to film some news segment which claim they have have uncovered some new information from an old social media platform called TikTok. The TikToks will be of people spreading joy and helping the world in little ways. This will then spread to our campaign #WhatDoesYourFutureLookLike where people will use the feature duet to make their own TikTok showing what they hope their or the general future will look like.

3rd Idea:

My third idea is to create a documentary on the effects corona virus has had on education. I really enjoyed doing the previous documentary project and found it was a strong point for me. It feels only right that in the current time to make a documentary on corona virus as it has completely taken over peoples lives and from my own experience I'm aware how much it has damaged education. The only thing that could be difficult is interviews as you can not currently go to someones house and I do not think you get the same effect from an interview over zoom.

I decided to choose my second idea because I thought it was an amazing offer to work for a client whilst still at college. Furthermore I had already put time and creativity into my pitch for Collusion and I wanted to continue my work. Also my second idea could be done easily in accordance with government guidelines whereas my first idea would be hard or even impossible to do considering the current Corona Virus circumstances.

SWOT analysis:

Strengths:
  • From my previous projects I have gained an understanding of the pressures of time and from this have become skilled within time management and planning my production.
  • I feel the quality of my work has increased exponentially since beginning the course especially when considering how I link research to my project in order to elevate my work.
  • Also I have familiarised myself with the brief so that I can ensure I am meeting expectations.
  • Although I am constantly trying to improve my practical work I feel I have improved immensely in particular with my cinematography.
  • After my last project I am also aware how easily I can adapt and adjust to sudden change I was able to change my production plan twice due to lockdown and government guidelines.
  • My FMP project will show that I can work with a client which will help with my CV and help to prepare me for my future career.
Weaknesses:
  • This project is on a very tight schedule however I hope with my skills in planning I will be able to work well within the time.
  • Although I am excited to work with a client and on a marketing campaign this is something relatively new to me and I am concerned this will make my whole project difficult.
  • As previously mentioned I struggle more with my practical skills especially with applying graphics into my edit I feel it always appears out of place. This will be a skill I will have to work on through this project because it will be required in the newsroom scene.
Opportunities:
  • In particular this project will appear impressive on my CV if done successfully as I am working with a client while also confined within a college project.
  • I enjoy marketing within media as I find working closely with a target audiences needs and wants very interesting.
  • Although due to the Covid restrictions my opportunities for research sources are slightly limited however I still have access to the internet where I can find interviews, websites, videos and books.
Threats:
  •  The biggest threat my project will experience is if we go back into a lockdown or the restrictions increase however from my last project I have proved that I can adapt my project to fix the circumstances.
  • A threat I could face is working in a group and adapting how I work. Although I have complete trust in my partners ability and skill neither of us have worked in a group before this could potentially course problems in our work because we will have to change how we normally produce our blogs and work.
  • Another threat I could face is the equipment I have available to me.

Pitch:

Pitch feedback:

From Collusion:

Our project accurately addressed the brief.

They liked that we encouraged hope and happiness rather than a dystopian future.

Also it was a good idea to have an active audience.

Peer feedback:

It was a descriptive and detailed pitch which made it easy to visualise the project going ahead and working.
